The sign is on a support pillar in the building where Nachum Gutman lived - painter, illustrator, sculptor and writer, born in Telenești, Moldova (1898-1980), immigrated to Israel in 1905.
One of the well-known painters in Israel and mainly associated with the city of Tel Aviv (Gutman also designed the city’s first emblem).

In addition to his many paintings, he also illustrated children’s books, especially those he wrote himself. Among the founders of the newspaper "Davar for Children" and its permanent illustrator.
Winner of the Israel Prize for Children’s Literature (1978), the Dizengoff Prize for the Art of Painting and Sculpture (1938, 1956), and many other prizes in Israel and around the world.
