The Old Saraya and Soap Factory
This large building was built in the early 19th century and served as a grand palace for the Ottoman governor, Mohammed Agha, who was also known as Abu Nabbut.
It was also used as the municipal post office and jail until the new government building was built in the Clock Tower Square at the end of the 19th century. The building then became a soap factory belonging to the Demianis, a Christian family.
