המבנה נבנה ב-1940 והיו אחד מהמבנים הראשונים שנבנו למגורי חברים בקיבוץ. המבנה המקורי כלל ארבעה חדרי מגורים, מרפסת פתוחה ולא היו בו שירותים.
במשך השנים המבנה שימש כבית ילדים לגיל הנעורים של הקיבוץ, לשם כך נסגרה המרפסת והוספו חדרי שירותים. לאחר מכן הוסב למועדון לילדי החוץ של הקיבוץ, אליהם הצטרפו גם ילדי הקיבוץ. את המועדון הפעילה יוכבד אלתר, ועל כן ניתן שמו "מועדון יוכבד". שנים רבות פעל המועדון כמרכז חינוכי בלתי פורמלי.
במשך השנים שימש כספריית ילדים, וכיום הוא משמש את ארכיון הקיבוץ וחדר מוזיקה.

The building was built in 1940 and was one of the first buildings built for members’ residence in the kibbutz. The original structure included four living rooms, an open balcony and no toilets.
Over the years, the building served as a children’s home for the kibbutz’s teenagers, for which purpose the balcony was closed and toilets were added. Afterwards, it was converted into a club for the kibbutz’s foreign children, who were also joined by the kibbutz’s children. The club was run by Yocheved Alter, hence the name "Yocheved Club". For many years the club operated as an informal educational center.
Over the years it served as a children’s library, and today it serves as the kibbutz’s archive and music room.
