תיכון קוגל - תיכון "עתידים" ע"ש מ’ אלישיב
המבנה הזה שימש כמשכנו של בית חינוך - התיכון ע"ש "קוגל", שהיה בית הספר התיכון הראשון של חולון ופעל במבנה הזה בין השנים 1951-1997. תחילת פעולתו של בית הספר הייתה ב-1949, במספר מבנים ארעיים.
אבן הפינה למבנה הזה הונחה במאי 1950, בידי ראש המועצה של חולון, ד"ר חיים קוגל (1897-1953), בנוכחות שר החינוך והתרבות זלמן שז"ר, שחתם על מגילת היסוד. בחודש אפריל 1951 נחנך הבניין.
ד"ר חיים קוגל, שהיה גם ראש העיר הראשון, נפטר ב-4 בפברואר 1953, ובית הספר נקרא על שמו.
ב-1997 עבר "תיכון קוגל" לקריית פנחס אילון. במבנים אלה פעלה "קוגל - המכללה למינהל".
בשנת 2006 שונה שם בית הספר, ונקרא "עתידים" ע"ש מרדכי אלישיב (פרידמן), שהיה מנהלו הראשון של "בית החינוך קוגל", מ-1948 ועד 1965.
אלישיב (1898-1977) היה מורה ומחנך בגימנסיה הריאלית העברית בקובנה, ליטא. היה פעיל בתנועה הציונית ועלה ארצה בשנת 1930. הוא שימש כמורה במקוצות המדעים, בכפר הנוער החקלאי בן שמן. היה פעיל ב’הגנה’ ומנהל בתי הספר ביגור ובגבעת השלושה. פרסם ספרי לימוד בכימיה, כתב מאמרים רבים בנושאי לימוד וטבע.

Kogel High School - Atidim High School named after M. Elyashiv
This building served as the residence of the Kugel High School, which was Holon’s first high school and operated in this building from 1951 to 1997. The school began operating in 1949, in a number of temporary buildings.
The cornerstone for this building was laid in May 1950, by the head of the Holon Council, Dr. Haim Kugel (1897-1953), in the presence of the Minister of Education and Culture, Zalman Shazar, who signed the Basic Scroll. In April 1951 the building was inaugurated.
Dr. Haim Kugel, who was also the first mayor, died on February 4, 1953, and the school was named after him.
In 1997, Kugel High School moved to Kiryat Pinchas Ayalon. Kugel - the College of Management operated in these buildings.
In 2006, the school was renamed Atidim after Mordechai Elyashiv (Friedman), who was the first director of the Kugel School from 1948 to 1965.
Elyashiv (1898-1977) was a teacher and educator at the Hebrew Real Gymnasium in Kaunas, Lithuania. He was active in the Zionist movement and immigrated to Israel in 1930. He served as a teacher in the science fields, in the agricultural youth village of Ben Shemen. He was active in the Haganah and the principal of the schools in Yagur and Givat Hashlosha. Published textbooks in chemistry, wrote many articles on study and nature.
