בית העם העברי הראשון בארץ-ישראל נחנך בשנת תרנ"ח, 1898. הבית נבנה ביוזמת איכרי המושבה ומכספם ושימש בית לעדה, ספרייה ומשכן לתזמורת. מעל דלת הכניסה כתובת הקדשה לברון ולברונית רוטשילד.
בבית העם נערכו אסיפות, ערבי תרבות, קונצרטים של "האורקסטרה של ראשון" והוצגו בו מחזות עבריים. מעל בימתו נאמו מנהיגים ואנשי רוח בתוכם הרצל, ביאליק ועוד.
במרתף הבית התגוררו עולי תימן שהגיעו למושבה בשנת תר"ע, 1909, ובשנים תרצ"ו-תרצ"ט, 1936-1939, שכנה בו משטרת היישובים העבריים.
הבית, המשמש גם כיום כבית העם, שוקם ושוחזר בשנת תשנ"ח, 1998, על פי תיעוד מארכיון מוזיאון ראשון-לציון.

The Community Hall

The first Hebrew Community Hall was inaugurated in 1898 and served as a social and cultural community center, library and home for the first Hebrew orchestra. It was dedicated to the Baron and Baroness Rothschild. New immigrants from Yemen, who arrived in 1909, lived in its basement. Between 1936-1939 the Jewish Settlement. Police station was here.
After renovation and restoration, it continues to serve as a Community Hall.
