Tel Bahan
In Tel Bahan, the IDF excavated a system of canals and fortifications in 1959. The outposts at the site were called "Leah" and "Hanita."
From the tell, one could observe the Jordanian positions stationed on the slopes of the Samaria Mountains and the nearby village of Shuweika. During the Six Day War, the place served as a front post. The positions were manned by members of Kibbutz Bahan and during the war were reinforced through the Hakash (Elderly Corps) unit. Several 25-liter cannons were stationed at the site, which were operated by the kibbutz members during the fighting.
