מודיעין מכבים רעות המודרנית
בשנת 1985 הוקמה ’מכבים’ ע"י תנועת מכבי העולמית בראשות ד"ר ישראל פלד ולצידה הוקמה ’רעות’ ביזמת צה"ל במטרה לספק מקום מגורים למשרתי כוחות הביטחון.
ב-1994 החלו בעבודות הפיתוח של היישוב העירוני מודיעין, ב- 1996 אוכלס והוכר כמועצה מקומית. ב-2001, עם ריבוי התושבים הוכרזה מודיעין כעיר.
ב-2003 הוחלט על איחוד היישובים לעיר ’מודיעין מכבים רעות’.

בסמלהעיר שלובים עבר והווה: לפיד המכבים מול קו הרקיע של היער, וכן מוטיבים של טופוגרפיה וגיאוגרפיה: הירוק של עצי האורן המאפיינים את יער בן שמן.

Modern Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut
In 1985, Maccabim was established by the global Maccabi movement, headed by Dr. Israel Peled, and Reut was established alongside it on the initiative of the IDF in order to provide a place for the security forces to serve.
In 1994 they began the development work of the municipal locality Modiin, in 1996 it was inhabited and recognized as a local council. In 2001, with the increase in population, Modiin was declared a city.
In 2003, it was decided to unite the settlements in the city of Modi’in Maccabim Reut.
