המצודה הצלבנית בפסגת התיתורה נבנתה בין השנים 1099-1260, והיא שהעניקה לגבעה את שמה הערבי אל-בורג’ שפירושו ’המצודה’.

בעזרת המצודות שמרו הצלבנים על הדרך לירושלים, ובנייתן זהה לרוב: על ראש הגבעה חצר מרובעת מוקפת חומה ובמרכזה מגדל קומתיים רבוע. אל הקומה העליונה הוביל גרם מדרגות מזרחי.

The fort
The Crusader fortress at the summit of Titura was built between the years 1099-1260, and it was the hill that gave the hill its Arabic name al-Burj, which means ’the fortress’.
