On the sign:

The Family of David and Rivka Pessah
David and Rebecca Pessah were both born in Eretz Israel and among the first to settle outside the walls of the Old City in the Ohel Moshe quarter. Father engaged in commerce and was also a beadle in the synagogue. Mother was busy bringing up her children and helping the needy. Their home was open to all. Their qualities fellowship, morality, mutual respect, and frugality - are an inspiration to us their descendants, to this very day.
