On the sign:

Translation of the text on the sign:
[Irgun symbol]

Etzel Monument
The Irgun - a national military organization founded in 1931 with the aim of fulfilling the goals of Zionism and establishing a Jewish state in the Land of Israel.
The Irgun branch in Petah Tikva was the focus of the organization’s activities, its fighters were arrested and sent to detention camps, some in Africa.
Some of the warriors were executed and at the height of their heroism sang "Hatikva" as they ascended the gallows.

The people of Israel will remember the heroes of the Irgun for generations
