משה פדהצור (פודהורצר)
תרמ"ט - תשכ"ג (1889-1963)
בן למשפחה צפתית ותיקה. יו"ר ועד הקהילה היהודית, שהוביל את ההתנגדות לפינוי יהודי העיר בתש"ח (1948). תבע את הכללת צפת בחלק היהודי של תכנית החלוקה (1947). ראש העיר העברי הראשון (1955-1948). נטמן בצפת.

Moshe Pedhatzur (Podhortzer)
1889-1963
Born to an old Safed family. As Chairman Of the Community Council, led the opposition against evacuation of Jews from Safed (1948). Demanded the inclusion of Safed in the Jewish part of the Partition Plan. First Jewish Mayor of liberated Safed (1948-1955). Buried in Safed.
