The sign was placed in 2023, and is in the clock tower of Taormina Click for sign's details The plaque depicts the copy of the mosaic of the Holy Virgin, displayed next to it. The original copy is found in the regional museum in Messina, and was probably made by a Greek artist in the 13th century AD

The copy was made by the School of Mosaicists of Friuli in Spilimbergo at the request of Cavaliere Giovanni Mercurio Raccuja (Scaletta Zanclea 25 June 1910 – Taormina, 31 January 1985), who made available the ogival frame from his home in Corso Umberto n.212, Taormina, bombed on 9 July 1943.
