Beit HaOfeh (The Baker’s House)
The house was built in 1925 by Yitzhak Mogilevsky, born into a baker’s family, who immigrated from Bialystok in Poland.
Mogilevsky set up a bakery next to the house, which provided bread to all the local residents, and also delivered bread to Tel Aviv. It is told that his nephew Yehuda (later known as Yehuda Galili) was born in this house, and being the first child born in Ramat-Gan, the avenue leading to "HaEmek", Sderot HaYeled (Child’s Avenue), was named after him.
The house, which was located outside the Yishuv (Settlement) on the main road to Petah Tikva, served as a strategic point for defending the Yishuv, and a center for the guards, who could enjoy the aroma of fresh bread. The upper story was added in 1947.
