זהו טנק מגח 3, מספר צ-818577 עליו פיקד ולחם יוסי רגב, מפקד פלוגה בחטיבה 421 במלחמת יום הכיפורים. טנק זה היה הראשון לחצות את תעלת "סואץ" על גבי תמסח לעבר אפריקה ב- 16 באוקטובר 1973. בזכות חטיבות השריון שלחמו בחזית הדרום כותרה הארמיה השלישית והתקפת הצבא המצרי נהדפה. בתום המלחמה כוחות צה"ל ישבו בגדה המערבית, 101 ק"מ מהבירה קהיר.

This is a Magach 3 tank, no. 818577, in which Yosef Regev, a company commander in the 421 Armored Brigade, fought in the Yom Kippur War. Regev’s lank was the first to cross the Suez Canal on an amphibious tank carrier on October 16, 1973 Thanks to the Armored Brigades fighting on the southern front, the Egyptian Army was encircled and the Egyptian attack was warded off. At war’s end IDF forces were on the west bank of the Canal, 101 km away from the capital, Cairo.
