The sign is on the banks of the Ganges, in front of the Parmarth Niketan ashram, run by Chidanand Saraswati, whose picture appears in the center of the sign.

Above the sign is a statue of Shiva engaged in meditation. The statue is on the banks of the Ganges, where tradition says that his long hair blocks and changes the river, thus preventing it from flooding the entire world.
