שריונית מסוג מרמון-הרינגטון מתוצר דרום אפריקה שימשה את הצבא הבריטי בארץ ישראל ואת הלגיון הירדני. במלחמת העצמאות צה"ל לקח שלל כמה שריוניות, ואחת מהן הוכנסה לשימוש בגדוד הקומנדו 89 בפיקודו של משה דיין. שריונית זו כונתה "הנמר הנוראי" והובילה את הכוחות הלוחמים במבצע "דני" לכיבוש לוד ורמלה.

Marmon-Herrington armored vehicles, produced in South Africa, were used by the British army in Palestine, as well as by the Jordanian Legion. During the War of Independence, the IDF captured several of these vehicles, one of which entered service in the 89th Commando Battalion, under the command of Moshe Dayan. This vehicle led the IDF forces in Operation Dani, for the conquest of Ramla and Lod.
