טנק מתוצרת ארצות הברית במלחמת העולם השנייה. הכלי יוצר משנת 1942 ושימש כטנק מערכה עיקרי בשירות בעלות הברית לאורך המלחמה. כ-50,000 טנקי שרמן מדגמים שונים יוצרו במהלך המלחמה. כלים אלו השתתפו בקרבות בחזית המערבית באירופה, בצפון אפריקה כנגד הצבא הגרמני וכן בדרום מזרח אסיה. לקראת סוף המלחמה טנקי שרמן סופקו לצבא האדום וסייעו במאמץ בחזית המזרחית. לאחר המלחמה נמכרו למדינות רבות ברחבי העולם ונותרו בשירות מבצעי לאורך זמן רב. גם בצה"ל שירת הטנק במלחמת העצמאות ולאחריה בהיותו אחד מדגמי הטנקים הראשונים של השריון.

This is an American-made tank from World War II. Its production began in 1942 and it served as a main battle tank (MBT) for the Allied Forces throughout the war. Some 50,000 Sherman tanks of different models were produced in the course of the war. These tanks fought in Europe’s Western Front, in North Africa against the German army and in Southeast Asia. Toward war’s end, Sherman tanks were supplied to the Red Army and aided the war effort on the Eastern Front. After the war, these vehicles were sold to many countries around the world and remained in operational service for a long time. The tank was in IDF service as well, during the War of Independence and in its aftermath. It was to become one of the first tank models of the Armored Corps,
