A feasibility model of a main battle tank, with an engine and transmission at the front, mounted onto the hull of a Shot-Cal (Centurion) tank. This model was built in the early 1970’s, under the instruction of Major General Israel Tal, "Father of the Merkava", as part of the Merkava project, aimed at producing an Israeli tank. Within this framework, several models were built, including one of wood and one of modeling clay. The Shot-Cal tank underwent revision and the driver’s seat was installed near the engine, in order to test feasibility. Practically, the tank drove "forward" in reverse gear.
