The freight terminal was built in 1892. It was used for the storage of goods coming in from the port on their way to Jerusalem. The elongated structure was constructed so as to enable a fast and easy loading and en loading directly from the train

Comments:
The sign is located where the "Jaffa Railway Station" was - a station that operated between 1892-1948, serving the Jaffa - Jerusalem line, and was the first railway station to be built in the Middle East after stations built in Egypt and Turkey.
