DESIGNED IN THE FRENCH RENAISSANCE STYLE BY J. MORGAN SLADE AND BUILT IN 1882 BY ARCHITECTURAL IRON WORKS, CHENEY & HEWLETT, 109 PRINCE STREET HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS ONE OF THE MOST STRIKING GEMS OF 19TH CENTURY CAST IRON ARCHITECTURE IN THE WORLD.

COMPLETELY RESTORED IN 1993, IT WAS AWARDED THE PRESTIGIOUS LANDMARK CERTIFICATE OF MERIT BY THE NEW YORK CITY LANDMARKS PRESERVATION COMMISSION, SIGNED BY MAYOR RUDOLPH W. GUILIANI IN 1994
