A sign in the series of signs in Madrid, made of clay and depicting in an illustration one of the elements of the street

The street is named after the Order of Santiago, a Christian military order founded in the 12th century to protect pilgrims who ascended to the tomb of Saint James in the city of Santiago, Spain. Also on the street is the Church of St. James (whose tomb is in the city of Santiago, as mentioned).
The sign features the emblem of the order, a cross resembling a sword, and a shell symbolizing the route of the Way of Santiago.

The sign was painted by Alfredo Ruiz de Luna Gonzalez
