Isabella II of Spain (1830-1904), Queen of Spain from 1833 to 1868 and was the only woman to serve as head of a united Spain.

The statue was made in 1888 by José Piquer Duart, a year later the statue was moved to another location, and returned to this square in 1905. The statue is located in the center of the square that bears the queen’s name Click for sign's details
