יליד ראשון לציון. גדל בשיכון המזרח, בן למשפחה מרובת ילדים. החל את דרכו המוזיקלית כזמר מבצע בסוף שנות השבעים, ובראשית שנות השמונים קיבל חיבוק גדול מהקהל, וסלל את דרכו אל לב הקונצנזוס ואל כל בית ובית בישראל.
זוהר שילם מחיר אישי כבד בעקבות ההצלחה. הוא מצא מפלט בשכונת התקווה. חבריו ושותפיו לדרך מעידים כי אהדתו לקבוצת בני יהודה הייתה רבה.
בגיל 32 בלבד נמצא מת בתא המעצר של משטרת ראשון לציון. אחרי מותו גברה ההכרה בפועלו ובתרומתו לזמר הים תיכוני, ועד היום הוא מכונה "המלך", ונחשב בעיני רבים למי ששינה את פני ההיסטוריה התרבותי והמוזיקלית בארץ.

Zohar Argov (1955-1987) Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv, 1988/89
Born in Rishon Lezion. Raised in Shikun Hamizrah, son of a large family. He began his musical career as a singer in the late 1970s, and in the early 1980s received a great embrace from the audience, paving his way to the heart of the consensus and to every home in Israel.
Zohar paid a heavy personal price for his success. He found refuge in the Hatikva neighborhood. His friends and companions testify that he had great sympathy for the Bnei Yehuda group.
At the age of only 32, he was found dead in the Rishon Lezion police detention cell. After his death, recognition of his work and contribution to Mediterranean singing increased, and to this day he is called "the king," and is considered by many to be someone who changed the face of cultural and musical history in Israel.
