A series of signs placed in 2025 on one of the banks of the Yarkon River, featuring cultural figures, some of whom are still alive, dressed in the uniforms of the football teams they supported. The current sign shows Yigal Shilon in the uniform of the Hapoel Tel Aviv team, during the period when the sponsor was Diadora.
Yigal Shilon died in November 2024, probably after the sign was made (therefore the year of his death does not appear).
Translation of the text on the sign:
Yigael Shilon (b. 1946) Hapoel Tel Aviv, 1993/94
Born in Tel Aviv. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Aeronautical and Space Engineering at the Technion, but chose to pursue a career in the stage, like his brother Dan Shilon. In the 1980s, he was a friend of Yehuda Barkan, and together with him he directed and produced prank films.
In 1994, he hosted the program "Fasposim" on Channel 2, which was a natural continuation of his prank films. "Fasposim" aired for fourteen years, and became the thing most associated with Yigal.
As an ardent fan of Hapoel Tel Aviv, he followed the team, and instilled his love for it in his children.
