The Dining Room
In 1935, it was decided to build a concrete dining room to replace the barracks building, mainly for security reasons.
In 1939, after stormy meetings, the plan of architect Yoske Idelman was accepted and the cornerstone was laid.
In 1941, the dining room was inaugurated, a spacious rectangle with the kitchen in the northern part.
In 1942, groves and gardens were planted around the dining room.
In 1943, the dining room became a battlefield between the kibbutz members and the British army, which was looking for illegal weapons.
In 1963, the dining room was renovated, and two wings were added - western and eastern - in the shape of "wings", as well as additional functions.
From the beginning of the kibbutz, the dining room was the heart of the settlement.
Meetings, parties, films, shows and holidays were held there.
Where the members met at mealtimes and for various activities.
The kibbutz lifestyle took shape around the dining room tables.
