העיר קרית גת מוקירה ומצדיעה לראשוני בניה החלוצים שבאו בשעריה מכל קצוות תבל, התיישבו בה, נטעו בה עץ וגן, בנו בית ילדו בנים ובנות, לימדו אותם חכמה ודעת, חינכו אותם לאהבת המולדת, הגשימו את החזון הציוני וחזו כתקומת עם ישראל בארצו.

The city of Kiryat Gat cherishes and salutes its firstborn sons, the pioneers who came through its gates from all corners of the world, settled there, planted trees and gardens, built houses, gave birth to sons and daughters, taught them wisdom and knowledge, educated them to love their homeland, fulfilled the Zionist vision, and envisioned the resurrection of the people of Israel in their land.
