יער לח"י - לוחמי חרות ישראל

לוחמי חרות ישראל - תנועת שחרור שלחמה במחתרת למען חרות ישראל בארץ ישראל 1948-1940 בשנים

מחוללה ומייסדה של התנועה היה אברהם שטרן - "יאיר", אשר הכריז ראשון מלחמה בשלטון הזר הבריטי, בארץ - ישראל ופעל להקמת מדינה יהודית בכל שטחה.

בכ"ה בשבט תש"ב - 12 בפברואר 1942 נרצח "יאיר" בדם קר ע"י שליחי הבולשת הבריטית.

עיקר מאבקה של מחתרת לח"י התרכז בהתקפות על מרכזי השלטון הבריטי בארץ, מפקדות צבא ומשטרה, בסיסי צבא ומחנותיו לסוגיהם. דרכי תחבורה ותקשורת וכן אישים מרכזיים ושולחיהם, אשר הובילו את מסעי הדיכוי נגד האוכלסיה היהודית בארץ - ישראל.

לוחמי לח"י ניהלו מלחמה מתמדת ונחרצת נגד הבריטים בגבורה, במסירות נפש ובהקרבה עילאית.

במלחמה נועזת זאת נהרגו, נפצעו או נפלו בשבי לוחמים רבים. חלקם נכלאו בבתי סוהר ובמחנות מעצר בארץ ובאפריקה. עשרות מחברי לח"י נשפטו למוות וגזר דינם הומר למאסר עולם.
שלושה לוחמים הועלו לגרדום.

כתוצאה מלחץ המחתרות העבריות החליט השלטון הבריטי בקיץ תש"ח לפנות את כוחותיו מארץ ישראל.

בה’ באייר תש"ח - 15 במאי 1948 הוכרז על הקמת מדינת ישראל

עם הקמת המדינה התגייסו חברי לח"י לצבא ההגנה לישראל והמשיכו במסגרתו את מלחמתם לעצמאות ישראל.

Lehi Forest - Fighters for the Freedom of Israel

Fighters for the Freedom of Israel - a liberation movement that fought underground for the freedom of Israel in the Land of Israel in the years 1940-1948

The instigator and founder of the movement was Avraham Stern - "Yair", who was the first to declare war on the British foreign rule in the Land of Israel and worked to establish a Jewish state in its entire territory.

On the 25th of Shvat 5702 - February 12, 1942, "Yair" was murdered in cold blood by agents of the British Secret Service.

The main struggle of the Lehi underground was focused on attacks on the centers of British government in the country, army and police headquarters, army bases and camps of all kinds. Transportation and communication routes as well as key figures and their envoys, who led the campaigns of oppression against the Jewish population in the Land of Israel

Lehi fighters waged a constant and determined war against the British with heroism, dedication and supreme sacrifice.

In this daring war, many fighters were killed, wounded or captured. Some were imprisoned in prisons and detention camps in the country and in Africa. Dozens of Lehi members were sentenced to death and their sentences were commuted to life imprisonment.
Three fighters were put to the gallows.

As a result of pressure from the Hebrew undergrounds, the British government decided in the summer of 1958 to evacuate its forces from the Land of Israel.

On 2nd Iyar 5708 - May 15, 1948, the establishment of the State of Israel was declared

With the establishment of the state, members of Lehi enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and continued their fight for Israel’s independence within its framework.
