which was sunk by enemies of our people (may their name be blotted out)
in the waters of the Black Sea on its way from Constanța to the Land of Israel.
On board were dozens of children, orphans from Transnistria and refugee survivors from across Nazi-occupied Europe.
On the holy Sabbath night of Parashat Vaetchanan – “Nachamu,” the 16th of Av 5704 (August 5, 1944).
