בית רפפורט – רח’ דרור 17

הבית הוקם בשנות ה-20 למאה ה-20 ונועד למגורי מר כתריאל רפפורט (מראשוני המושבה) ובני משפחתו.

אדריכל ומהנדס הבניין אינם ידועים. הבית הדו קומתי המקורה בגג רעפים נבנה בסגנון אקלקטי האופייני לתקופה. מאפייני הסגנון ניכרים בסימטריה הרמונית ובשילוב אלמנטים דקורטיביים בעלי השפעה עות’מאנית וקלאסית לדוגמה: הקשתות בדלתות החזית הראשית המרשימה ובחלונות. בשנות השלושים נבנו תוספות בעלות מאפיינים של הסגנון הבינלאומי.

הבית שימש לצרכי מגורי המשפחה עד לשנות ה- 40 למאה ה-20, אז שופץ לצרכי השכרה ונוספו לו מדרגות חיצוניות ומרפסות.

בראשית שנת 2018 הסתיימו עבודות שימור המבנה בתכנון אדר’ איל זיו ובניית תוספת מודרנית בחלקו האחורי בתכנון אדר’ סלו בן-עמי. יזם הפרויקט: בני קליין

Rappaport house - 17 Dror street

The building was established in the 1920s and was designated for the residence of Mr. Katriel Rappaport (who was among the first settlers of the colony) and his family

The identities of the architect and the construction engineer is unknown. The two-story house that is covered with a tiled roof, was built in an eclectic style which was characteristic of that period. The qualities of the style are evident in the harmonious symmetry and in the decorative elements, which combine Ottoman and classical influences, such as the arches of the windows and doors in the impressive main facade. In the 1930s, elements belonging to the international style were added to the building.

The Rappaports resided in the property until the 1940s, when the building was reriovated for rental purposes, with the addition of an external staircase and balconies.

At the beginning of 2018, a rchitect Eyal Ziv conducted the building’s conservation work, and a new modern construction was added in the back of the lot by architect Salo Ben-Ami. The property owner: Benny Klein.
