Translation of the text on the sign: [The Hebrew text contains several additional details, and is presented here in full]
Shimon Reich House The Shimon Reich House was built in 1937 as a private residence, in a restrained international style. Until 1939, an observation post equipped with searchlights was stationed on the roof. The night squads set out from here for operations in the Western Galilee. During the Aliyah Bet (illegal immigration) period, the building was used for temporary sheltering of immigrants, while at the same time British officers were hosted in the house. For a short time, the building operated as a nightclub and café called “Armon” (“Palace”), and later became the local police station. In 1959, the building was purchased by the Nahariya local council and served as the public library until 2005.
