Moshe Tamir 1924 - 2004 Moshe Tamir immigrated to Israel from Russia at the age of 3. He fought and was wounded in the War of Independence.
He graduated with honors in art studies at Bezalel and in monumental art in Rome.
He held solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries in Israel.
He lived in Paris for seven years and presented large-scale solo exhibitions in museums in Brussels, Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina), São Paulo (Brazil), Mexico City, the United States, and in galleries across the United States, South America, Canada, and Europe.
He was awarded the Struck Prize, the Israeli Young Artist Prize, was selected as one of 20 outstanding painters in Europe, and won first prize for lithography at the São Paulo Biennale.
He created monumental works in the United States, fresco and mosaic monuments in Mexico City and in Israel, and wall tapestries for the President’s Residence in Israel.
His works are held in museum collections and in private collections around the world and in Israel.
