דניאלה שינמן; וריאציות על ונוס
ציורו המפורסם של בוטיצ’לי - לידתה של ונוס - שימש לאמנית דניאלה שינמן נושא לציורים המוצגים כאן ברצף.
ונוס המיתולוגית, שהיא גם אפרודיטה - אלת האהבה והיופי, נפרמת בציורים אלו לאין ספור חוטים בשחור-לבן, בטכניקה ייחודית של גרפיט (סוג של פחם), המוטבע על בד הקנווס.

לידת ונוס, העולה מקצף הים על גבי צדף, הוא משל ללידה מחודשת. בחירת הנושא כמטאפורה להתחדשות, שינוי וריפוי, מזמינה דיאלוג בין האמנית לחברה ולתולדות האמנות, בין האמנית לסביבתה ובינה לבין עצמה. ונוס, המשנה פנים, אינה סמל מרוחק, אלא חלק מחיינו. היא רכה וחולמנית, כביטוי לרומנטיקה של זמן עבר, פגיעה למכאובי ההווה ואופטימית לגבי העתיד

האמנית דניאלה שינמן (1947) נטשה את השימוש בצבע ועברה לציור שחור לבן בגרפיט, על בדים גדולים, תוך שימוש בשפה אמנותית חדשה וייחודית.

Daniella Sheinman - Variations on Venus

Botticelli’s famous painting - the Birth of Venus - is used by the artist Daniella Sheinman as the subject of the paintings consecutively displayed here.
The mythological Venus, as Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. is gradually revealed throughout this series of paintings by using an innovative technique with graphite (a type of charcoal) - countless black and white threads imprinting impression on the canvas.
The birth of Venus, Rising from the sea foam on the crest of a shell, is an allegory for rebirth. The choice of Venus as a metaphor for renewal, Change and healing, invites a dialog between the artist and society, the art world, herself and her environment.

Venus, with her changing faces, is not an icon from the distant past but, rather, a part of our daily lives. She is gentle and dreamy, an expression of a past romantic era, vulnerable to our present sorrows, yet optimistic towards the future.
The artist, Daniella Sheinman (1974) has left the use of color behind to work in black and white with graphite on large canvases in a new and unique artistic language.
Her works were exhibited at leading museums of cotemporary an as well as art galleries, private collections and public spaces.
