Comments:
The forest is dedicated to the Jews of Dorohoi, Romania who were murdered in the Holocaust.

The sign stands in front of a monument consisting of six stone pillars, truncated at the ends, so that when viewed from above they form a Star of David, and in the center is a severed tree trunk. The monument is similar to the one in the Jewish cemetery in Dorohoi.

The monument was photographed on the same day by the same photographer Click for a larger image

[On a nearby sign]
The Forest of the Martyrs of Dorohoi extends over approximately 120 dunams within the Forest of the Martyrs.
It was dedicated by families of immigrants from Romania, from Dorohoi and its surroundings, as an expression of their desire to establish a home in Israel and to preserve the memory of the Holocaust for future generations.

The Organization of Dorohoi and Surroundings Immigrants expresses its appreciation to the hundreds of members whose contributions made the establishment of this memorial site possible.
