Outpost 15
After the fighters of the Palmach Harel Brigade captured, on the 8th of Nisan 5708 (April 17, 1948), the Arab village of Saris (today Shoresh), this hill became one of the Arab outposts defending the village of Beit Mahsir (today Beit Meir), located to our west.

During Operation Maccabi, the fighters of the Palmach Harel Brigade captured this outpost on the night of 9–10 May 1948 (the eve of 1 Iyar 5708).
The following day, the local Arabs who had come out of Beit Mahsir repeatedly attacked the outpost but were repelled.

On the following night, 10–11 May 1948 (the eve of 2 Iyar 5708), fighters of the Palmach Harel Brigade set out from here and captured Outpost 17 (“HaMasrek”) and the village of Beit Mahsir.
