בית החרושת נבנה בשנת 1905 בסמוך לתחנת הרכבת, והיה חלוץ תעשיית המלט בארץ ישראל, בעיקר הודות לייצור מרצפות מקושטות ומעוטרות.

Built in 1905 next to the train station, the Wieland Factory was a pioneer in the cement industry in the land of Israel (Eretz Israel), particularly due to its production of decorative floor tiles.
The sign is located where the "Jaffa Railway Station" was - a station that operated between 1892-1948, serving the Jaffa - Jerusalem line, and was the first railway station to be built in the Middle East after stations built in Egypt and Turkey.
