Jaffa’s main commercial street started out here.
The street, built in the late 19th century, bustled with life; along it were offices, shops, and a hotel. From the early 20th century on, Zionist Movement institutions and shops owned by Jews were located here.
The two-story houses were built by the entrepreneur Moritz Sheinberg, who leased the land from the Sursock family of Beirut.
Why did the Zionist Movement institutions choose this of all streets as their location? Scan the QR code and find out!

Comments:
The sign is rectangular, and at its top there is a circle containing the name of the trail and an image representing the current station.
The current circle shows an illustration of Howard-Bostros Street as it was during its heyday Click for a larger image

The trail depicts the route of the pilgrims who came to the Land of Israel starting in the 18th century, beginning with their arrival at the Port of Jaffa and continuing through the various points along their way.

The current station depicts Howard-Bostros Street (now Raziel Street), which was the main commercial street of Jaffa. This street was home to many institutions of the Zionist movement, including the Palestine Office headed by Arthur Ruppin (at house number 17) and the Zionist Commission for Palestine headed by Chaim Weizmann (1918).
