Η Μονή του Αγίου Φραγκίσκου των Φραγκισκανών αποτελούσε τον μεγαλύτερο ενετικό καθολικό ναό της πόλης. Από το κτηριακό συγκρότημα της μονής σώζεται το καθολικό και ορισμένα κελιά. Στα χρόνια -της Τουρκοκρατίας ο ναός μετατράπηκε σε τζαμί του Γιουσούφ Πασά. Τότε προστέθηκε στη βορειοδυτική πλευρά μιναρές και η οκταγωνική κρήνη στην αυλή. Από τη δεκαετία του ’60 μέχρι το 2022 φιλόξενούσε το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Χανίων.

The Monastery of St. Francis of Assisi was the largest Venetian Catholic church in the city. The catholicon and some cells survive from the monastery complex. Under Ottoman rule the church was converted into the Yusuf Paşa Mosque. A minaret was added to the northwest side and an octagonal fountain in the courtyard. From the 1960s until 2022 it housed the Archaeological Museum of Chania.
