משפחת וילנד הגרמנית הגיעה לירושלים בשנת 1870. בשנת 1900 קבעה המשפחה בת 12 הנפשות את מושבה ליד תחנת הרכבת והשכונה הטמפלרית "ואלהאלה" הסמוכה. ביתם, "הווילה", נבנה בשנת 1902 בסגנון טמפלרי תוך שימוש בחומרים שיוצרו בבית החרושת שלהם שמיקומו היה בסמוך.

The German Wieland Family arrived in Jerusalem in 1870. In 1900, the 12-member family settled near the 1870 train station and the adjacent Templar’s "Valhalla" neighborhood. Their home, "The Villa" was built in 1902 in Templar style, using materials produced by their factory which was located nearby.
The sign is located where the "Jaffa Railway Station" was - a station that operated between 1892-1948, serving the Jaffa - Jerusalem line, and was the first railway station to be built in the Middle East after stations built in Egypt and Turkey.
