A typical Arab house named after its red color. The Red House is one of the oldest buildings in the complex, probably built between 1880-1890 as part of the Al Manshiyya neighborhood which is adjacent to the railway station area. The house sports a typical style of the Jaffa area, with the two-story version being the most recognized version.
The sign is located where the "Jaffa Railway Station" was - a station that operated between 1892-1948, serving the Jaffa - Jerusalem line, and was the first railway station to be built in the Middle East after stations built in Egypt and Turkey.
