The trail describes the journey of pilgrims to the Land of Israel from the 18th century - from the port of Jaffa to the various points they passed along the way.

The current station depicts the City Inn, a place built in 1812 to serve as a place of lodging for merchants who came to the Jaffa markets. In the late 19th century, the place served as a detention center for Jews who came to Israel without entry permits.
