The menorah was installed in December 2024 opposite the military cemetery in Rehovot.
It was created in memory of the victims of the Hamas surprise attack on October 7, 2023 – an assault on the communities surrounding Gaza in which Israel was caught off guard.
In the attack, more than 1,100 people from Israel were killed and 251 were abducted to the Gaza Strip, as well as in memory of the soldiers who were killed in the war that broke out later.
The menorah is considered the largest in the world.
