[Silhouette of Jane Austens head] The Jane Austen Centre & Regency Tea Rooms
Jane Austen (1775–1817) was an English novelist who specialized in writing about young women of the lower gentry in England. She moved to the city of Bath due to her parents’ relocation there (it was in this city that Austen experienced a personal crisis that affected her work).
The Jane Austen Centre is a museum that tells the story of Austen.
On the wall of the house, there is another identical sign (though in a different style) and a sign indicating that the location is recognized as a tourist attraction by VisitEngland, the national tourism body of England: VisitEngland QUALITY ASSURED VISITOR ATTRACTION Click for a larger image
