The sign is on the wall of the house where Leslie Haden-Guest (1877-1960) lived, who in addition to being a doctor was also a writer, journalist and Labour politician. He was the 1st Baron Haden-Guest
Before marrying his second wife he converted (1924) and was the first Jew to be nominated for Parliament on behalf of the Labour Party.
