Challenger 2

Challenger 2 entered service in 1994 as Britain’s main battle tank, and has seen action in Kosovo, Bosnia and Iraq. In 2023, the UK sent Challenger 2 tanks, accompanying ammunition and spare parts to aid Ukraine. It weighs 75 tonnes, is protected by composite armour and armed with a 120mm rifled gun, This tank is painted in the Berlin Brigade camouflage scheme, which was designed for urban combat during the Cold War and has since been used by the Royal Tank Regiment’s Streetfighter Project.

To see what it is like to operate the Challenger 2, find a QR code on the tank and focus your smartphone or device on it.

Please do not climb on the tank
