Translation of the text on the sign:
Branding symbol of the city of Rehovot
Rehovot the city of science and culture

The Menorah of Redemption and Peace
From the days of the Temple and throughout the generations the people of Israel in all the Diaspora have been careful to light candles on the days of Hanukkah, as a symbol of the heroism and victory of the few against the many, of the Hasmoneans against the Greeks.

This menorah was built in 2014, on the initiative and funding of Mr. Ephraim Kapra, a native and resident of the city, designed by the artist from the city of Rehovot, Mr. Emilio Mogilner.

The menorah rises to a height of about 10 meters, was placed in the Founders’ Garden under the auspices of Mayor Mr. Rahamim Malul and members of the Rehovot City Council.
