הל"ה
מחלקת הל"ה הייתה מחלקה מקובצת של לוחמים מהפלמ"ח ומהחי"ש (חיל השדה). 35 מאנשיה (הל"ה) יצאו לתגבר את גוש עציון המנותק. מפקד המחלקה היה דני מס, הלוחם האמיץ, שהיה קודם מפקדו של הגוש.
המחלקה יצאה לדרך אור ליום שישי מסמינר בית הכרם בירושלים. לפנות בוקר התגלתה המחלקה, כותרה על ידי המוני ערבים וכל לוחמיה נהרגו בקרב קשה שנמשך כל אותו היום. חללי הל"ה נקברו תחילה בקבורה זמנית בגוש עציון ואחר כך הובאו לקבורה בהר הרצל.
פרשת הל"ה הפכה לאחד המיתוסים המכוננים של מלחמת העצמאות.

Halamed Heh
Halamed Heh was a division of fighters of the Palmach and the Field Unit. A convoy of 35 of its members was sent to reinforce the cut-off Etzion bloc (Gush), under the leadership of the brave Danny Maas, a previous commander of the Gush. The men left under cover of night from the Beit Hakerem seminar in Jerusalem but were discovered before reaching their target, surrounded by hordes of Arabs and were all killed in a fierce battle that lasted throughout the day. The victims were temporarily buried in Gush Etzion but were later reinterred on Mt. Herzl.
The story of the Lamed Heh is one of the heroic episodes of the war.

"الـ" خمسة وثلاثون
كانت مجموعة الـ " خمسة وثلاثون " ( تسمى أيضا قافلة الـ " خمسة وثلاثون " . ببساطة الـ " خمسة وثلاثون " ) عبارة عن مجموعة مكونة من 40 مقاتلا .
خلال حرب الاستقلال انطلق 35 من رجالها لتعزيز غوش عتصيون المنقطع وقتلوا في معركة في الطريق .
كان يقود القسم داني مس حيث انطلق افراد الـ " خمسة وثلاثون " فجر الجمعة 16 كانون الثاني 1948 وفي ساعات الصباح تم اكتشاف أفراد المجموعة فتم تطويقها من قبل أعداد كبيرة من العرب من المنطقة فقتل جميع مقاتليها في معركة طويلة في ذلك اليوم .
