בית אנגל, שנות ה-30. אוסף מטסון

ביולי 2003 הורכזה "העיר הלבנה" של תל-אביב ע"י אונסק"ו, ארגון החינוך, המדע והתרבות של האו"ם, כאתר מורשת עולמית, בזכות ייחודה הארכיטקטוני כמרקם עירוני מודרני, הבנוי בסגנון הבינלאומי וברוח אסכולת ה"באוהאוס". בית הספר לאמנויות העיצוב והאדריכלות "באוהאוס" הוקם בגרמניה בשנת 1919 ע"י וולטר גרופיוס, בהתבסס על אידיאולוגיה השמה את האדם וצרכיו הפשוטים במרכז, וקוראת לתכנון פונקציונלי, פשוט ובר קיימא.
"בית אנגל", השוכן בשדרות רוטשילד 84 תוכנן על ידי האדריכל זאב רכטר ב-1933 - הבית הראשון בעיר שנבנה על עמודים ברוח הסגנון הבין-לאומי.

في شهر حزيران ٢٠٠٣ أعلنت اليونسكو . منظمة الأمم المتحدة التربية والعلم والثقافة عن مدينة تل أبيب " مدينة بيضاء " وكموقع تراث عالمي بسبب تميزها المعماري كنسيج مديني حديث مبني على النمط الدولي وبروح مدرسة " باوهاوس الفنية . تأسست أكاديمية فنون التصميم والعمارة " باوهاوس " في المانيا سنة ١٩١٩ على يد ولتر غروفيوس ، ويعتمد هذا التوجه على فكر أيديولوجي يضع الإنسان واحتياجاته البسيطة في المركز ، وتدعو إلى التصميم المعماري العملي والبسيط والمستدام . بيت أنجل ، القاطن في جادة روتشيلد ٨٤ ، صمم على يد المهندس المعماري زليف ريختر سنة ١٩٣٣ - وكان أول بيت في المدينة ييني على أعمدة على نمط الطراز العالمي

In July 2003, Tel Aviv’s "White City" was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, due to its architectural uniqueness as a modern urban texture, built in the International style and in the Bauhaus spirit. The Bauhaus school of architecture and design was founded in Germany by Walter Gropius in 1919, based on an ideology which places the individual and his basic needs at the center, and calls for functional, simple, and sustainable design. "Engel House", at 84 Rothschild Boulevard was designed by architect Zeev Rechter in 1933 - the first house in the city built on stilt columns in the spirit of the Internationational style.
