Station No. 3 in the historic Oxford Castle route, consisting of 14 plaques depicting landmarks on the site from 700 AD to 2006

Robert D’Oyly - a Norman nobleman accompanying William I in the conquest of England. After the victory he was appointed High Sheriff of Oxfordshire and within this began the construction of many Oxford buildings including Oxford Castle and the collegiate church of St George’s
