The "Foormans"
In this room, in the National Institutions building, was the headquarters of the Foormans, that accompanied the convoys to Jerusalem during the War of Independence, members of the Sixth Battalion - Palmach (12.1947-3.1948).

They were men and women of the Palmach - members of the "Jerusalem Reserve" and young people from the Palmach’s kibbutzim in the settlement and across the country.

When the campaign broke out on Jerusalem and on the way to it, they escorted, under enemy fire, food convoys, supplies and passengers to the city. Many have paid for their lives. Together with taxi drivers, trucks and buses, life was given to the besieged city.

When the road to the city was blocked, the "Foremen" joined the Palmach-Harel Brigade and took part in the bloody battles to liberate Jerusalem.
