Most of the mountainous area that can be seen from here, except 60 acres of private land and State Park on the summit, is part of the White Mountain National Forest.
This 725,000 acre public property is managed for timber production, watershed protection, hunting and fishing, and outdoor recreation. Large tributaries of four major New England rivers rise here.

This is your National Forest to use and enjoy.
